Small Business Mentoring Program

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Porter House KC Small Business Mentorship Program is a six-month long program that matches aspiring and emerging small business owners with local entrepreneurs and business leaders, with a goal of supporting them holistically to name and work towards specific goals as they build their businesses.

In addition to one-on-one meetings, mentors and mentees attend two monthly workshops that focus on the following:

Mentors

In order to participate in this program, potential mentors must:

  • Be an established entrepreneur or business leader (5+ years of experience and expertise)
  • Reside in the Kansas City metropolitan area
  • Commit to fulfilling the program requirements which include:
    • At least ONE MONTHLY 1-on-1 meeting w/ mentee
    • Attending monthly whole group workshops
    • Completing program surveys

Mentees

In order to participate in this program, potential mentees must:

  • Be a current or aspiring entrepreneur whose business earns less than $200K in revenue/year
  • Reside in the Kansas City metropolitan area
  • Commit to fulfilling the program requirements which include:
    • At least ONE MONTHLY 1-on-1 meeting w/ mentor
    • Attending monthly whole group workshops
    • Completing program surveys + business updates

Important Dates

Application Closes: March 6th

Onboarding for Mentors / Mentees: Mid- to Late- March (Dates will be provided upon the status of your application – week of: March 11th)

Speed Dating (Mentor + Mentee) Style Event: Early April

Matching Happy Hour Event: Mid April

First Session: Tuesday, May 7th
